Singing Bowls have been around for four thousand years that we know of, and have been deemed Tibetan, Himalayan, Meditation or simply Singing Bowls.
Back in the days of severe austerity, Tibetans used them to align their chakras, enter deep states of contemplation, and afterwards for dinner serve their tsampa in them. They posses the foremost quality of the best sound healing tools: to swiftly silence the mind and place one in a zero point of awareness.
The technique of performing singing bowls is actually the technique of surrender, a discipline which fosters connection with one’s most intuitive and heart-aligned self. In this state of no-mind one can help transport others into sublime realms of selfless exploration.
I have been fortunate to know and work with the two fine sound healers in this film. They both have nurtured an ability to swiftly enter a state of resonance with their higher nature and create a space of ethereal journeying. Their styles and personalities are very different, yet both have mastered the ability to transport others into profoundly shamanic realms - all Inside.
At some point the listener will stop hearing sound and sonority, and enter a state of deepening, the oceanic spirit of pure being.
Set aside an hour and allow yourself this time of Inner Silence through Sound. You’ll soon understand why these simple instruments have such a timeless following and testament of the Boundless Dreaming.
